What is Livery Studio?
Livery Studio is a Windows desktop workspace for creating, editing, exporting, and activating iRacing paints around the local TGA file workflow.
Does Livery Studio replace iRacing paint files?
No. The app helps you build and manage the flat paint texture, then exports or writes the finished TGA to the local place iRacing expects.
Is the 3D view the main editor?
No. The flat 2D paint texture is the source of truth. The 3D view is used as a preview to catch placement and wrapping issues.
Can I import logos and existing artwork?
Yes. Builder supports imported artwork alongside editable layers such as text, shapes, pen work, panel fills, and base paint elements.
Why do some cars have better panel tools than others?
Panel-aware editing depends on installed car support data. When a car has guide data, Builder can expose named panels and selections. Without that data, the app still works from the flat texture but panel tools are limited.
Is Livery Studio affiliated with iRacing or Trading Paints?
No. Livery Studio is an independent tool. Compatibility names are used only to describe the paint workflow, file formats, and local simulator integration.
